Jude 1:20 " But you, beloved, build yourselves
up founded on your most holy faith make progress, rise like an edifice
higher and higher, praying in the Holy Spirit." Amplified Bible
I love this scripture for the truth that it holds for each of us as
Gods' beloved children. First this verse states that we are beloved,
which means we are beloved of God. No matter what happens in life we
know we are Gods' beloved children. Next
we are to build ourselves up on our most holy faith. In other words
stop leaving it to Gods' ministers on Sundays to build you up. You
should be doing this yourself based on your faith in God and your
personal relationship with HIM. Not only should Gods' children be
building themselves up in their faith in HIM, but they should also be
making progress! Moving forward in HIM! Not sitting still, not waiting
on the pastor, prophet, apostle, teacher or evangelist to build them up
and move them forward. To progress means to move forward not sit still
or regress. Yet many do just that as they are too lazy to read the word
or study to show themselves approved. They want to blame their lack of
faith on those who stand Sunday after Sunday in the pulpit spoon feeding
them the word of God because of laziness on their part. It is time for
the church to stop procrastinating and leaving their relationship with
God on the pews when they leave the church building on Sundays and only
picking it back up the next week. It is not the pastors job to stir you
up! It is your place and responsibility to do so. 1st Timothy 6-7 " That
is why I would remind you to stir up, rekindle the embers of, fan the
flame of, and keep burning the gracious gift of God, the inner fire that
is in you by means of the laying on of my hands with those of the
elders at your ordination. (7) For God did not give us a spirit of
timidity, of cowardice, or craven and cringing and fawning fear, but He
has given us a spirit of power and love and of calm and well balanced
mind and discipline and self control." Timothy was being told to stir up
the gift inside of him. To make sure that he was the one doing the
stirring up of said gifts. All you have need of to walk up rightly with
God is on the inside of you. All you have need of to walk in love, power
and authority is on the inside of you! Placed there at the time of
salvation! NOW is the time to get up, dust yourself off and stir the
gifts and callings in your life and then move forward with them! STOP
waiting on someone else to stir your spiritual llife to life! Get up,
get up and move forward now with the authority and gifts and callings
that GOD and not man has given you and progressively move towards the
high calling! STOP being lazy! MOVE IT!!!

LOVE....
The greatest gift we have is LOVE...we should not be stingy with our love, but shower everyone we come into contact with, with the love that we have on the inside of us. Love is a powerful emotion that should not be locked away and discarded. Love should be freely spread to those we come in contact with. Love is and always should flow freely in our lives. God's word has a whole chapter dedicated to the subject of LOVE. On this day that we celebrate LOVE take a few moments to meditate on what real and true love is. Not what the world says love is but what God has said love is...
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 " Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."
How powerful is love! Love is a grand and wonderful thing and is made even more so when shared and given out freely. Let LOVE pour out from you even when you do not feel like loving. Remember that LOVE is not just a feeling. It is a living element of who GOD created us to be. Share the LOVE!

Forgiveness......
Colossians 3:13 " Be gentle and forebearing
with one another and, if one has a difference a grievance, or complaint
against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has
freely, forgiven you, so you must also forgive." Amplified Bible
Forgiveness involves a three fold promise.....
1) I will forgive those who have wronged me and not keep it alive in my mind, will or emotions.
2) I will not bring up the subject again to the one I forgave or to anyone else. I will leave it at the alter where I lay it without holding a grudge.
3) I will on purpose walk in forgiveness so that when I need forgiveness it will be given to me.
Do you need forgiveness or need to extend forgiveness to someone else? Today is a great day to extend forgiveness for we know not what the future holds. Why be waited down with unforgiveness when you can walk in the freedom that forgiveness provides for you. Remember that unforgiveness only hurts you as the other person has most likely moved on and does not have a clue that you are hurting or allowing a slight to fester.

Verse of The Day
John 14:12-14
12. "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
13. And whatever you ask in My name that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it."

Sunday Verse
Romans 8:35-39
"35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 as it is written: " For your sakes we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." NKJ

Overcoming Fear
Fear will keep you from walking in the fullness of Gods' plan for your life. Whether that fear is of man and his opinions or just the fear of failure it need not define who you are. The Word of God instructs us not to be fearful yet for many, fear keeps them from doing the will of God in their lives.
There are many ways to define fear, here is the one that I like to use: to be afraid of something or someone, to be in a state of fear or dread....this really sums up fear simply and easily so anyone can understand the word fear.
Fear is more than just a word though and for some it really is a tangible reality in their life. For others it is merely a small stumbling block that is easily gotten rid of. However you view fear, whether real or imagined, God can and will set you free of the power it has over you. Gods' Word is full of scripture to help HIS children realize that they need not live with fear in their lives.
Isaiah 51:7 " Listen to Me, you who know rightness and justice and right standing with God, the people in whose heart is My law and My instruction: fear not the reproach of men, neither be afraid nor dismayed at the revilings." Amplified Bible
As believers in Christ Jesus we are in right standing with God therefore, we should not fear men and what they say. As Gods' children we should be aware that there will be times of great pressure from mankind. Each believer should be able to stand strong and not allow the voice of the enemy spoken through those around them to place fear in their hearts.
Isaiah 43:5 : Fear not, for I am with you;" Amplified Bible
I love this verse! Short and to the point of what God has to say about fear! As a child of the King we should never walk in fear because He is there with you every step of the way! How easily believers are tricked into believing the opposite of what Gods' Word clearly states. He is with you! Every step of the way, no matter what you may be going through you are not alone! God walks right there with you the whole time! How awesome that God is there throughout our journey on this earth!
Isaiah 44:8 " Fear not, nor be afraid in the coming violent upheavals; have I not told you from the old and declared it? And you are My witnesses! Is there a God besides Me? There is no other Rock; I know not any." Amplified Bible
Through the words of Isaiah God is giving His people reassurance that He will still be with us and we should not be afraid of the harsh times we find ourselves in. Even in the times we live in we should not be afraid of all that is happening in the world. We should continue to trust in God and have faith that He will keep us even through the violent upheavals that will come.
Mathew 10:28 " And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell." Amplified Bible
I know people who are afraid to go into certain parts of the city because of the bad elements that are there. Yet they are missing out on the ministry that God has called them to because of fear. You cannot allow fear to consume you to the point that you are not obedient to God. I am not saying to run out and confront gang members of their need for Christ on their turf if God has not called you to do so. Yet if God has spoken to you to go into an area that strikes fear into your heart and you refuse to do so and not trust God to take care of you, then you have done exactly what this particular scripture says not to do.
The second part of this scripture defines a fear of God. Not the kind that brings terror, but a reverent fear of God. One of respect and honor for who He is. This should not be confused with base fear that all of mankind deal with. We must remember that God is holy and should be treated as such. We should raise up our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. In other words children should be taught to respect and honor God and His Spirit.
Mathew 10:31 " Fear not, then; you are more value than the many sparrows." Amplified Bible
If God cares enough about a little bird, then why should you as a believer walk in fear instead of trusting God to care for you.
2nd Timothy 1:7 " For God did not give us a spirit of timidity of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear, but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well balanced mind and discipline and self control." Amplified Bible
This is my favorite scripture on fear! God does not put fear, timidity, cowardice upon His children. He has given us a spirit of power, love, a calm and well balanced mind with discipline and self control! Look at the word calm, if you are calm in spirit and your mind is well balanced with God fear has no place! And the way to finding that calm and balanced spirit is through God and His Word!
I promise that if you read and meditate upon Gods' Word and spend personal time with God in prayer and meditation daily fear will have no room in your life. Gods' Word and His Spirit have the power to transform fear into power and a balanced life in Him.
I encourage you today to take time to spend time in Gods' Word and in His presence. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart and bring healing and courage to your life today.
